Yesterday Lynn Nottage was awarded the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for her play RUINED which is playing at MTC. And I totally totally called that. I don't think there is anywhere I can claim this except for here. I knew it! Congratulations Lynn.
The other nominees were: Gina Gionfriddo for BECKY SHAW & Lin-Manuel Miranda & Quiara Alegria Hudes for IN THE HIGHTS.

Yes, you DID call it, I remember that.
It's so encouraging that all three nominees were so worthy. I think the Pulitzer Committee must have listened to the criticism of a few years back that they were out of touch with American theater. All three plays are outstanding.
If I remember correctly, this is now Quiara's second nomination. Let's hope the next time's the charm......
